Thankful Things

I have to catch him off guard or he won't let me take his picture
plumeria in October
I tried to smell them all before they fell
I fell pretty hard trying this in Oceanside few months ago (helmet to concrete), but at 8 am I had this park to myself so I could try it again.
(I actually took this picture myself. had to set the camera on a timer and count down from ten to try to time it just right;
 it was kind of exciting).

I made some chocolate chip pumpkin bread while we were watching the movie Lawless the other night.
The first and second and third slices were so good, but I should have stopped there.
I've missed wearing socks
paint the town with waves
we used to have a lot of time together after work since we both finished around 4 or 5 pm;
now we have less time since Scott get's home at 6:30, but I think we use it better. The sun sets around 6:45.
I make dinner, we talk about our days, have a drink, watch a movie, play a game or watch The Office

what are you thankful for this week?

p.s. I found this when I was up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep: 3 year old Mackenzie has Leukemia. I can't stop thinking about this little girl and her family. I just thought I'd mention it here since prayers and positive thoughts never hurt anyone.

  1. That picture of you and your mum is gorgeous, definitely one to treasure. I love the last shot as well, looking into your cosy lit home. I always like to look through the window here if I'm in the garden after dark. It always looks so welcoming. And I love your sofa in the sunshine - a sofa in the sun is one of my favourite things. I just want to curl up there and maybe close my eyes for a moment. I'll take a slice of that chocolate chip pumpkin bread as well if there's one left. CJ xx

    1. There is something nice about looking into your own warmly lit home after dark, isn't there? I'm sorry to say there is no pumpkin bread left. I at it all (and Scott had a little too), but I do have more of the ingredients so you'll just have to fly over here to try it :)

  4. Loved this post. I'm thankful for the seasons, autumn is the most amazing of them all...i've been able to ride my horse in the newly combined fields. Enjoying the chilly air blowing through my hair=) I loved the pumpkin bread, yeah I feel like that way too often...but it's so hard to stop, lol!

    1. Your version of autumn sounds right out of a book. How thrilling and yet calming that must be to ride your horse in the fields in cooling weather <3

    1. If your hesitations in seeing it are related to a distaste for goriness, then it might not be for you or you should at least look away a lot. There are some pretty bloody scenes that I mostly didn't watch, but the story definitely held my attention and I enjoyed most of the characters and especially the beautiful setting. The fact that it's based on a true story is kind of fascinating.
