Appropriate Distractions

I needed this weekend as a distraction of sorts. With some sickness affecting our circle of family and friends and life changes approaching, I find my mind suspended in a way; unable of focus on anything else unless I find the appropriate distraction. Spending time at the beach, eating brunch, bowling and barbecuing with friends were the perfect distractions on Saturday (and as Stephanie pointed out, "that's a whole lot of things that start with 'B'" :).

(this post could alternately be titled Funny Faces)

The weekend was spent in Orange County at these spots:
Newport Beach River Jetties
{thumbs up to all!}

  3. I'm glad it was a good weekend Devon. I absolutely love that photo of you and the girl on the bottom of your surf board, it's fantastic. I do hope the sickness passes for all. Those life changes are always scary, I need lots of distraction when they're on the horizon too. I've become a master at making myself think of other things. No idea how it's Thursday already, nearly time for another weekend, I hope it's a good one for you and yours. CJ xx

    1. Thank you CJ. Unfortunately I just found out my great aunt passed, but she was ready to go. She said so herself, and I guess that's the best situation you can hope for at the end of your life. I think I ought to try to master distracting myself like you have. Surfing and skateboarding are definitely my go-tos now when I'm on my own.

  4. Sounds and looks like you needed this fun weekend. We do need moments like these to recharge. I know I'll forever be thankful to my friends who distracted me and helped me relax during a weekend here and there when dad was ill. It was in those moments when I really realized what a toll the whole situation was taking on me. Afterwards I was left refreshed.

  5. Sorry about the bad stuff affecting family and friends. Hopefully it doesn't last too long. Looks like a great fun weekend with all the B things, LOL. Great photos in the water using the Go Pro (the first one of the water is so serene).
