Stop One: San Jose Skatepark

{basia and phil's place in San Francisco this morning. Dragon likes to sleep in}
Five months ago I asked if we could go to the skatepark for Valentine's Day. Scott had that Friday off since it was President's Weekend and on the way home from work on Thursday, he stopped at the local skate shop and picked up some pads and a blue helmet for me as an early Valentine's gift.

I knew almost nothing about skateboarding in the grand scheme of things, and this was the best part. Skateboarding allows me the feeling that I can still do whatever I want. The blend of sweat and adrenaline, like some sort of fever, makes me happier.

  1. I love your life attitude: do not stop having fun and enjoying life... even as an adult. :)

  2. I love these pictures!! You're so right on that it's good to push ourselves to do things outside of our comfort zone just to prove to ourselves that we can still learn new tricks and aren't too old to experience a whole new world. Now I have "A Whole New World" in my head from Aladdin. Yesterday you made me think of The Little Mermaid. I guess I'm on a Disney kick:)
