Thankful Things

This week I'm thankful for....
bikini and beanie weather
there's something bewitching to me about birds
the daisies are back
caves are cool
I love going to the skatepark lately. I think I was hungry for a new challenge and didn't even know it. In case you can't tell from this picture, I am really bad compared to everyone else. The other skaters have been so supportive, though. I wasn't expecting that. It's not the same in surfing. It'd be good if I carried some of that camaraderie with me to the water.
our hydroponic garden gave me this
I don't like folding clean clothes, but I do like folding clean towels
My shoulders have been sore from paddling lately. So much so, that the pain wakes me up some nights. I'm finally doing the physical therapy I should have been doing every day for the last 7 years. I need this in my life too much to be without it.
tradition is comforting; Lent makes me feel nostalgia and peace
this probably won't always be our home, but I'm happy it is right now

What are you thankful for this week?

  1. Seriously, Devon; your photos are extra good lately - have you been doing some dslr homework, and if so, please teach me, lol :) Have a lovely weekend x

  2. Ha! So freaking true on the skating vs. surfing thing. Sometimes I feel like people who surf actually think they were BORN knowing how. I always try to be merciful to the new guy. It sucks not knowing what you're doing...esp. amidst a group of people who DO know and are super territorial. The ocean is not ours! :)

    1. yeah, surfing is different though with territorialness. There aren't always enough waves to go around. With skating, everyone gets a fairly even piece of the pie. It's good you try to be merciful to the new guy though. That's nice. That's what we should do.

  5. Lovely photos Devon, the caves are fantastic. The sun is headed this way as well this weekend, I'm really looking forward to it, although it won't be California warm - probably about 60 degrees F, but that will feel warm to us. Glad you are keeping up the skating, it always looks like such fun. I do hope your shoulders are better soon, it sounds very painful. Your home is so beautiful Devon, full of light and lovely things, I can see why you are happy to live there. I hope you guys have a good weekend, CJ xx

  7. We still have snow on the ground here, so I'm mighty jealous of those daisies! And your lovely home always makes me want to move back to San Diego.

  8. Oh, I always love looking through the things you're thankful for. It is so cool you're skateboarding! There's something bewitching to me about birds, too. It's just amazing they can fly and soar above us so effortlessly. Love that first picture of you:)

  9. We just bought my son a skateboard for his birthday and he took his first lesson last weekend and loved it. I'm excited for him to get started with board sports at a younger age than me! ha! Even though I have to admit that as his mother, I'm freaked about when I see him on his skateboard :-)
