Thankful Things

This week I'm thankful for…

patterns
window seats
I never thought I'd like knitting, but I'm excited I do
art that makes me laugh
celebrating birthdays
locals
one last wave before dark
cloudy days, blurry waves
real life paintings
Have a great weekend!

p.sDo you have any favorite yarns you'd recommend? I just ordered this one to finish the scarf above (as you may have noticed, I made it pretty wide!) and I'm looking for another kind so I can make something else (most likely another scarf…maybe narrower this time)

  1. I really find this series of things you're grateful for very inspiring. I love your blog, and the general good, simple, and down-to-earth feeling it has.

  3. A lovely post Devon, with beautiful photos. I love the one of you with your surfboard. Back in the summer I finished a scarf using Madeline Tosh Merino Light. It was a revelation because wool usually make me itch, but this didn't. I was SO excited that I'd found something that I can wear. You may be wondering why I was knitting something that I thought would make me itch, but well, it was pretty, and I thought I could maybe keep it over the top of a jumper and away from my skin somehow. I'm quite the optimist, and this time it paid off! Wishing you a good weekend and happy knitting Devon. CJ xx

    1. That wool is so soft! It's what my mom bought me for my first project and I may never try knitting with anything else again ;) I'm glad you found something to knit with that is comfortable for you to wear CJ. Happy weekend!

  5. I love these posts, and I love that you're knitting!! It's so special to me. My mom taught me how in high school to help me cope with a bad breakup. I'm still not very good at it, but it's always been soothing to me.

    1. Thanks Michelle! I like that story (although, I'm sorry about the breakup :). I'm really happy to have knitting as I tend to be a bit ADD and anxious sometimes. It's a great way to both stay busy and chill out. I think soothing is the perfect word.

  6. I love getting a peak at all these things that make up your world. The water looks amazing. I usually buy yarn from Michaels, so I'm probably not the best person to offer advice. The yarn you chose looks beautiful! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
