Little Things: Alaska

a snow bear
We just got back from a family trip to Alaska. I found most of these things on the forest floor on a walk I went on, on New Year's day. No one was around. It was half raining, half snowing. Most of the treasures I gathered were green or brown, but there's something so beautiful to me about the uniformity of the colors in nature during wintertime. I would walk in the forest everyday if I could.

  1. Ooo where did you go in Alaska? I was in Anchorage for Christmas and it was so gorgeous. I miss real winter but I'm glad I get to go home every year to enjoy it :)

    1. No Way! We were in Anchorage, too. Well, Girdwood to be specific. It was awesome and I was really stoked on how dark it was (such a good excuse to sleep in). Plus all the wilderness. It's magical. Are you from there originally? I'm *so* jealous.

    1. I did not get my fill of the cold. I want more. It's 72 here today…so non-wintery.

    1. That place is freakin' huge. I think I could explore it for a whole year and not see half of it. I need to go back immediately.

  5. Beautiful things, I love forests too. Such inspirational places, a feast for the senses. By the way, if you're looking for some good surf, I hear that the west coast of Ireland is excellent right now. We're having all sorts of winds and weather in the UK and Ireland at the moment, and apparently it's resulted in some great surfing conditions. Just thought I'd mention it...

    1. So I heard! If only I had the time and money for a trip to Ireland right now (and a 5mm wetsuit!). I hope to see some pictures of somebody surfing over there, though. I know there will be some.
