Thankful Things

1. I jumped in the ocean on my way home from work Tuesday and found these treasures while I was in there
2. sometimes I just love it when nobody's around
3. watching my surf students surf
4. afternoon snack
5. surfing for my students :)
6. waiting for Scott to come home on Fridays feels like waiting for Christmas morning
7. I wonder if this bird thinks its feathers are pretty?
8. this one afternoon for about three minutes a corner of our house looked different than I'd ever seen it look before
9. A last walk with a person I realize now has become one of my favorites. I guess I'm just thankful for the time we had together over the last two years, because the goodbye was really hard.

    1. Hi CJ. Thanks :) It was hard. Harder even than I think I thought it'd be, but I am okay and so grateful for the experience. If I want to be a nanny, saying goodbye is a part of the job and I have to accept that. And I do want to be a nanny. I really enjoy it.

  2. Amazing finds in the ocean:) I always love your photos. I'm sorry you had to say goodbye to the little guy today. Goodbyes are always hard. I heard something once that has always stuck with me. Some people are meant to have a starring role in your life, while others are just passing through. Even those people passing through, though, have profound impacts on your life. I'm sure you made such an impact on his life and he on yours. That's something so special. Treat yo self to something fun today:)

    1. Thanks Kari :) This time of year and especially in the winter little treasures are uncovered by the waves and tides. It's exciting. Thanks for sharing the quote. I like it a lot. It's true, each person that passes through your life leaves a little mark.

  3. Love your attitude of gratitude, chica. I heard a talk this week and the main theme was "with one thought of gratitude, you have the power to transform your life." It was sweet and inspiring!

    1. thanks girl :) I love that quote too! I think there's so much truth to that. Sometimes when I'm feeling the most down is when I actually feel the most thankful because I know it could be worse and I can feel how lucky I am to have the things in my life that are still there making me so happy.

    1. I really wonder if birds think they are beautiful creatures or not. Some part of me bets they don't care at all. They just want to catch fish and make babies. But maybe every once in a while they see their reflection on the surface of the water and think "Damn! I'm cool!" :)
