A Ladybug Went Surfing with Me

a silly little poem for your Monday
One day,
a lady bug went surfing with me.
The sea was so calm and blue and green, she thought a dip would be the perfect thing.
She decided to dive in,
but her wings were too small and could not help her swim.
I scooped her little body into my hand so she would be safe and
together we rode a wave.
The ride was swift, but not paralyzing.
She was excited to experience my kind of flying.

  2. That poem made me happy:) Ladybugs are good luck, you know. Getting that little lady safely to shore will surely bring you some:) Ladybugs have always had a special meaning to me. When my grandpa passed away a few years ago, ladybugs started popping up everywhere around us. They were in my parent's house, on us when we went to the pumpkin patch, and showing up places where we had never had them before. To this day we have not seen so many ladybugs than we did in those few days. We took it as a sign that he was there with us. Now whenever I see a ladybug, I always smile and know I'm not alone. Maybe your ladybug found you to tell you hello. Kind of corny, I know, but a comforting thought:)

  4. Very nice rhyme and cadence to your poem :). Lovely analogy to helping one another one in life's challenges and experiencing life in another person's shoes.
