A Different Date

Jack Skellington and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I told you I was obsessed)
It was a pretty unique date night. I'll say that. Scott and I dressed like mythical characters and all; sitting across from each other at dinner in a warm, narrow restaurant in town on a crisp Halloween night. We were fueling up before heading over to a local haunted house I bought tickets for. They were $18 for the "double haunt" which included the haunted house and "The Chamber". Almost no one I mentioned this to thought it sounded fun, so it ended up being just the two of us. I love a good scare when you know no harm will come to you (and the whole 2nd page of your printed tickets legally promises so).
It was fun. Really fun. It was so different than any other date we've been on. We tiptoed through the dark maze and fog holding hands, taking turns being the leader. And even though we knew there was a guy near the exit who was going to chase us out of there with a "chainsaw", we still ran out screaming.

When we got home, our pumpkins were waiting for us in the front yard along with tons of candy, since apparently no tick-or-treaters came by. Scott decided to leave a battery powered candle in his pumpkin while we were gone, but it was looking pretty out of battery by this point. He stared at it and said "I want to see him with a better candle" and quickly went inside to get a real one and a lighter. He's a funny guy.

  4. I've only been to one haunted house. And though it scared the heck out of me while I was inside it, I loved it when I was done. That thrill is like nothing else!

    Cute costumes and pumpkins!
